John Denver *

A famous American country music singer, and his music is full of love for nature.
Formerly known as Henry John Deutschendorf , was a music composer and musician, a singer who used many popular songs in the 1970s. He recorded and released more than 300 songs. About half of the songs were composed by him. In 1977, he was called "Poet Laureate of Colorado".
Denver loves nature very much. He is a member of the Wildlife Conservation Society and has held many charity concerts to raise funds for him. He also established a tree planting foundation until 2000 (PLANT-IT 2000). People participating in this event have planted at least 20 million native plants around the world, as of 2000 AD. On the other hand, Denver's songs are full of deep and unchanging relationships with nature, such as the singles "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and other popular songs.
After China's reform and opening up in 1979, Deng Xiaoping performed in a cowboy hat at the Kennedy Performing Arts Center in Washington during his visit to the United States. Soon John Denver also came to visit mainland China and performed a tour. After the trip to mainland China, he composed the song "Shanghai's Breeze". John Denver is also one of the American country music singers most familiar to audiences in mainland China.
On October 12, 1997, Denver died of a plane crash at the age of 53.
Rocky Mountain High
He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Comin' home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hangin' by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changin' fast and it don't last for long
But the colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)
He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say he got crazy once, and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept his memory
Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
And the colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
You can talk to god and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)
Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land
And the colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Rocky mountain high
It's a colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high (high colorado)
Rocky mountain high (high colorado) rocky mountain high do de do !
Take me home, Country road
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
All my memories gather 'round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin'
That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, (down) country roads
Take me home, (down) country roads
